Traveling Information
Pisa is well connected by rail from all the major cities in Italy. The main railway station is Pisa Centrale. The high-speed trains, Frecciarossa (operated by Trenitalia), connect Rome with Pisa and Milan with Pisa in around three hours. The central train station of Pisa is at 25 minutes (walking distance) from the department of Mathematics of the University of Pisa, and 20 minutes walking distance from Scuola Normale Superiore.

A good option to reach Pisa from Firenze Santa Maria Novella railway station is to take a train operated by Trenitalia to Pisa Centrale. The shortest solution (approximately 1 hour) is the Regionale Veloce, but one can also take the Regionale (between 1 and 1.5 hours traveling time).
In case your destination is not connected with the previous airports, you may consider flying to Rome or Milan, and take a fast train to Pisa Centrale.
